Spring Open House
Every April WSU/Spokane County Master Gardeners celebrate the coming of spring with their annual Open House. Residents of the Inland Northwest are invited to enjoy this free event at the County Extension Education Center, N 222 Havana St in Spokane.
Master Gardeners prepare and hold a huge Plant Sale, with plants dug and divided from their own gardens. Additionally, there is a large Yard & Garden Sale where you can find a variety of donated garden tools and accessories, birdhouse and garden crafts, clever décor items with a gardening theme and other fun, unexpected surprises.
During the Open House, Master Gardener Volunteers staff the Master Gardener Clinic and Resource Center to help with individual plant problems and garden questions. Browse through the many books and displays in the resource library. Many publications are free and booklets written specifically for gardening in the Inland Northwest are available for purchase. Displays and demonstrations throughout the building featuring gardening topics and techniques vary from year to year but are always enjoyable, educational and timely.
All proceeds raised from the Plant Sale, the Yard & Garden Sale and the raffle tickets directly benefit our local Master Gardener Volunteer Program.
Special features include cooking demonstrations and a gardening activities room for the kids. Tickets for wonderful raffle prizes with a horticulture theme are available and refreshments are provided. For more information call 477-2181.
