National Plants Database

USDA database provides a single source of standardized information about plants, including standardized plant names, symbols and other plant attribute information.


Maintained by the Urban Forest Ecosystems Institute at Cal Poly State University, this interactive program is designed to match specific tree species to particular sites based on compatible characteristics. It offers descriptions of specific trees, a search by desired tree attributes, and links to other tree information.

National Pesticide Information Center

A cooperative effort of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Oregon State University. It is a service that provides objective, science-based information about a wide variety of pesticide-related subjects. They offer a toll-free telephone service that provides pesticide information. The site contains extensive information and fact sheets on a variety of pesticide-related topics.
